Towards the end of March, we took a weekend with my father who was visiting Auzon. We’d return for one more night in July before moving back to the U.S.
I took three weeks in Auzon over the summer, where Simon joined me, staying between my parents and friends. The final photos are from Léotoing, where my family would picnic when Simon and I were children.
Every trip to Clermont (see Clermont1) is a treat—though this time I have less to show for it than last. I had a better time, though—meeting another photographer, finding a great pub, and finally visiting Le Saint Eutrope’s cave.
Administrative travel is never pleasant, particularly when one lacks agency as to their arrival and departure dates. Despite that, the amazing late Spring weather and light made the trip to Clermont incredibly worthwhile, and I now I’ll never forget my way around the city.
I took a week back in Auzon with my family after having been away since having visited from Lyon, over a year before. This was my first serious shooting after having received the X-T2.
I returned to Auzon twice from Lyon, while my dad visited from Texas. It was great to get out of the city and back into the country—the air alone was sweet, and the green, open spaces were freeing.
This was our second Christmas in Auzon. The town and surrounding area closes down even more during the Holidays, and creates an incredible intimacy within the home—not only from huddling for warmth, but from the lack of commercial distraction outside.
